Ce qui m’a premièrement attiré à écouter ce groupe est leur
nom tout à fait à mon goût et original et je ne pourrais dire plus de leur
musique. Ils sont Anglais et installés à Londres. La formation en quatuor date de
2010. Depuis ils ont composés dans un studio au Nord de Londres. Ils ont
finalement sortis un EP en Novembre 2011, Falling Into Pieces.
Un pur bijou qui a une puissance indéfinissable. Mené par la
voix de Elisa Zoot. Étant difficile vis-à-vis des voix féminine je suis enchanté
cette fois par sa puissance et elle ne se sent pas forcée de faire du tremolo
et de couiner comme pas possible. Elle sait passer de l’état féroce (Falling
into Pieces, dont le refrain est totalement addictif) au paisible (On a Plane,
et on y viendra plus tard dans Hushabye Mountain). Cet EP est un melting pot de
toutes les influences les plus riches possibles. On passe de l’alternatif, à la
limite punk, au groove (Falling Into Pieces) à l’incantation (El Luchador/My Bambina) au
Jazz manouche avec une touche de magie incontrôlée pendant 1:37 (My bambina).
Black Casino And The Ghost nous emmène dans leur monde fantomatique hallucinant et débordant d’imagination avec des ambiances dignes des Bandes Originales de Danny Elfman.
Ils ont annoncés dans une interview qu’ils finissaient la
composition de leur premier album, et ils ont lâchés très récemment deux
nouveaux titres. Et c’est là qu’on revient sur l’ensorcelant Hushabye Mountain,
ne durant que 1 :33 mais qui fait vivre une expérience malgré cela. L’autre morceau est Wolf Is Howling où
l’on sent une influence (voulu ou pas) de Muse lors du couplet. Mais toujours pas d’affaiblissement au
niveau de la composition.
On attend donc avec impatience l’album et leur venue
en France pour les voir en concert et sentir leur énergie !

What first strucked me in this band before listening to their music is their name perfect for my taste and original and I couldn’t say more about their music. They’re British and live in London. The quatuor formed in 2010. Since then they wrote their songs in a studio in the north of London. They finally recorded an EP in November 2010, Falling into Pieces.
A pure jewel very powerful and indefinable. Lead by the voice of Elisa Zoot. Being difficult with female voices I’m delighted this time by her power without feeling forced to squeak as never. She know how to pass from a fierce state ( Falling Into Pieces, whom chorus is absolutly addictive) to a peaceful state (On a Plane, and we’ll talk about it later, in Hushabye Moutain). This EP is a melting pot of a lot of influences very rich. We go from alternative, to the limit of punk, to the groove (Falling Into Pieces), to sorcery (El luchador/MyBambina) to gypsy jazz with a touch of magic uncontrolled during 1 :37 (My Bambina). Black Casino And The Ghost guides us in their ghostly astounding worl and brimming with imagination with some atmosphere worthy of Danny Elfman.
They announced in an interview that they were finishing writing the songs for their first album, and they released recently two new songs. And here’s where we come back on the bewitching Hushabye Mountain during only 1 :33 but that makes you live an experience despite that. The other song is Wolf Is Howling where we feel an influence (wanted or not) from Muse during the verse. But still, not even a tiny diminishing in the writing of the tunes.
So now we wait impatiently their album and their visit in France to see them live and to fell their energy !
